Brad Miller, Kevin O’Brien, and Peter Strenn from the Valley Chapter (Appleton) were on hand at the annual meeting to receive a surprise award that recognized their chapter’s efforts to have a bigger WWA impact in their community.
In addition to hitting their super goal target financially – in a brand new venue – they also: ran two class A events, conducted Adopt a Wildlife Area activities in a municipal park, implemented a wood duck nesting box program in their local school system, and supported many other WWA events in their region. They have strong communications, leadership and planning, and benefit from a remarkable contingent of historically significant WWA leaders.
It’s a great chapter that is looking for new ways to stay relevant and make a difference for Wisconsin’s Waterfowlers. Nice job!
