SUMMARY:Wausau Area Meet and Greet
DESCRIPTION:Some wondered. Some asked. Some are taking action.\nWWA’s recent presence within Wausau and the surrounding area has been absent. We want to fix that\, but we need YOUR help. With your help and that of a volunteer named Abe Shinners\, we begin WWA’s return on August 6th with a “Meet & Greet” at the Wausau Skeet & Trap Club from 4:00 – 7:00PM. The evening’s activities are free and will include hors d’oeuvres\, a decoy carving demonstration by WWA’s President (Bruce Urben)\, information about WWA’s ongoing activities\, raffles\, and even trap or skeet shooting if you desire. Shooting will be “pay as you go\,” but everything else is free. \n \nWWA continues to grow and to actively advocate in word and deed on waterfowlers’ behalf across the state. We can only serve your needs if we hear from you and what better way to represent you either with our legislators in Madison or with habitat restoration and preservation projects than by meeting and talking? Marathon County hosts seven WWA habitat projects already. Do you have wetlands\, or land that was a wetland\, was tiled\, but is no longer used for agriculture? You might be a candidate for a WWA land project. Re-starting a Wausau area WWA Chapter is a step in that direction. \nAbe volunteered to re-start the chapter. Like all of us\, he has a passion for waterfowling\, and like many of us\, is also passionate about turkey hunting\, fishing\, has a family\, a job\, and a variety of other interests. He cannot\, nor should he\, try to re-start and run a chapter by himself. He needs your help. Varying levels of assistance needed. Committee members are needed to plan and host events\, to collect donations and sponsorships from area businesses\, to help spread the word\, and to represent WWA to the public; all are welcome. \nContact Abe at [email]shinners31@gmail.com[/email]  for more details.
