This article originally appeared in a March 19, 2020 Special Edition Wisconsin Waterfowl Association Newsletter to our chapter leaders.

I am back on a limited basis to help WWA through these extraordinary times.  We have never seen this situation as an Association or country.  I will be using my twenty years of experiences as a fundraiser to suggest ways for your chapters to prosper.

I want to thank all of the volunteers who helped out at the Milwaukee Sport Show Booth earlier this month.  We again sold numerous raffle tickets and told the WWA story. Thank you for your efforts.

Speaking of Class A’s, this is one means to supplement your chapter’s income while riding out this shutdown of public events.  Find an outdoor venue for your drawing, such as a gun club or park and set your drawing date for later this summer or fall.  Find a hot item to raffle, such as popular gun (contact me for ideas) or a new item, i.e. a layout blind/boat package, fishing trip etc.  We can help with online sales, but keep it cost efficient to keep ticket prices down and limit ticket availability to low numbers to sell.  We need to make lemonade from this case of lemons we have been handed.

Another opportunity to increase your chapter numbers and reach your Super Goals for 2020: we have our UTV Raffle tickets available for you to sell now.  All ticket sales totals go to your chapter’s net.  Hurry up and get your tickets to sell now. You can contact Rob Monette if your chapter hasn’t gotten them at robmarshlandwwa@gmail.com.  We would like to sell this out to supplement our bottom line as we could really use this source of income, especially now.

Now is also the time to check your calendar and find a date besides your banquet to sell UTV tickets at once we have the clearance to start gathering in larger groups again.  Check with Rob to see if another chapter has dates booked.  We should have the UTV at an event every weekend this summer when the “all clear” is given.

Thanks for all you do for WWA.  I truly appreciate all of your efforts.
