Vortex Optics – A WWA 2020 Silver Level Sponsor!
By Bruce Ross, Executive Director
WWA has been fortunate to bring Vortex products and information to our members for quite a few years. We love Wisconsin-based organizations, and that love runs deeper for companies with product that earns national, or even international reputations for product quality.
I carry binoculars – now Vortex binoculars – when I am in the marsh of course: bird ID at a distance, checking out other blinds/hunters that may be in view, and we’ve all experienced the most interesting things that happen in a marsh that we’d like a closer look at. I like the 10×42 Diamondback HD – it’s a nice size for carrying in my blind bag, the optical clarity and field of view is startling – and the price point won’t break the bank. But if your bank account is bigger than mine, Vortex offers higher end optics: binoculars, scopes, spotters, red dots, that will simply knock your socks off!
I’m not there yet, but I’m seeing more and more waterfowlers carrying rangefinders, so they know just how far away that decoy is, to know that when that suzie slips inside that decoy, you can take the shot with confidence. Golfers, too.
When I was talking with our Vortex contact the other day, he remarked that Vortex is working at getting better known in their backyard (the Midwest). He explained that because while western shooters – who take longer shots, or scope longer distances than we typically find here in Wisconsin – are well aware of the company’s quality, there is an opportunity to better educate midwestern sports of the Vortex value proposition. WWA is pleased to be a part of that process.
Check out Vortex at vortexoptics.com and we hope you’ll check in with their reps to try out their products at our outings, banquets and bashes.
