Last month, we reported that the Natural Resources Board (NRB) had set 2020 waterfowl season, and that the structure for seasons for 2021-24 had been approved, too. Turns out we were half right. The season for 2020 has been established.
Here’s the WWA Letter of support for 2020 Waterfowl Season proposal.
But due to a bureaucratic mix-up, the season structure for 2021 and beyond was not fully publicly noticed. So, the NRB will re-visit that single waterfowling issue (and other non-waterfowl related topics, I’m sure) in May’s NRB meeting. This will allow the DNR to make sure there’s a good opportunity for letters on the topic to be submitted. No in-person testimony will be permitted to comply with COVID-19 precautions. WWA will be submitting such a letter that represents your input to our earlier survey, which will generally be supportive of what the NRB concluded in its earlier session.
