Peter’s Project Updates July 2019

Dirt began moving this past week near Mukwonago.

This was a project that has been in the works for a few years and WWA’s role was supportive to provide technical guidance to the design.  A number of partners have been involved in this project and all are happy to see it get underway.

Wisconsin has a wide variety of conditions on the ground right now.  The construction site we started on last week is as dry as it’s been since last August, yet one of our project sites that we did last year is under about 3-4 feet of water due to the adjacent river being above flood stage.  I did not expect that at this time of year and I always worry about site outcomes as most infrastructure we build needs time to settle and solidify before being put under pressure from the effects of water.  I always tell everyone where we install a berm and/or water control structure to give it until the next grown season to put pressure on it or you risk a leak or failure.
