Abrams Property Trail Creation

Over the last ten days or so, contractors have been out, on the southern end of the Abram project property, expanding our disabled-accessible trail system, to the north, from the south parking lot/access area.  We laid out this first segment of trail, to avoid wetland areas, and later this spring, Peter will be doing a detailed wetlands deliniation on the area, so we can determine exactly where to make any further extension of the trail, north.  We’re hopeful that this trail will eventually provide access to several more hunting blind locations – we’ll keep you posted as things move along!

We’re also working to renew our burn plan for the property – we’d like to get the islands in the pond area burned – an area that was too wet to get on fire, during the controlled burn that took place on May 2nd, of 2011.  We hope to get this work done between the last week of March and the last week of April.  If you’re close by to the area, can flex your schedule on 24 hrs notice, and are interested in helping, let us know, we’ll keep you in the loop.
