The Waterfowl EXPO

By Bruce Ross, Executive Director

This article originally appeared in Wisconsin Waterfowl Association’s April 22, 2020 Volunteer Newsletter edition.

If you read the general e-news a week or two ago, you saw that WWA is helping build a coalition of waterfowling groups to re-boot the WI Waterfowl Hunters Conference.  For those who’d been to the old one, I’m sure you enjoyed it, and are wondering why it folded last year.  So our first step was to look at those reasons. After considering them, we decided we could address each of the issues.  And then we began to develop a vision for what it would look like when we host it sometime next year. It’ll be quite different and (we hope) sustainable for the long run.

This is all very much at the early stages, and if you’re as excited as I am by putting on an event that celebrates all of Wisconsin waterfowling, then why are you sitting on your hands?!?

Raise one or both of them and join our growing team!  We’ll need high energy people committed to being a part of a fun and diverse group and are ready to roll up their sleeves. We have outlined a rough organization. Volunteers are needed for important committee roles in:

  • Programs
  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Logistics
  • Marketing / Communications
  • Continuous improvement
