A caller participates in the Wisconsin State Calling Championships. Come watch the action Saturday August 22nd at Wern Valley!

I want to thank all of you who attended the Sporting Clay Shoots and the Golf Outing we hosted in July.  It is a great time for me to meet members of our community that I don’t get to see at our banquets, but who love to support us through these other venues.  Thanks again for your continued support.  I hope to see more of you at the upcoming WWA Waterfowl Sporting Clay Shoot August 22nd at Wern Valley Sportsman’s Club. This is a fun shoot to get you ready for the upcoming hunting season.  Bring your Duck hunting gun as we shoot pairs and triples at this event.  You can Win a Lucky Duck motion decoy package, booze package, an 8-Bird Pheasant Hunt or numerous fantastic prizes!!!  We will be giving away lots of cases of shells, so check out the website for more information or to pre-register.  We also have non shooting entertainment for the duck hunters the same day and same place with the Wisconsin State Championship Duck & Goose calling contest sponsored by Lucky Duck Premium Decoys. Come show us your calling skills as the winning Duck Caller gets to go to the National Championship in Stuttgart Arkansas.  We will have tickets for our UTV Raffle there with the proceeds going to fund wetland restorations in Wisconsin.

Tickets just $10 each for this TriStar, find out more here!

August is the month that kicks off our autumn banquet season.  We have implemented safety procedures so you can attend while having a safe and enjoyable experience.  Come enjoy an event with lots of guns and prizes; our first banquet is on the 20th with the Midland Wings Chapter event in West Bend, followed up with our Waukesha Chapter’s rescheduled banquet being held at both the Golden Mast and Rustic Manor 1848 on August 27th.  You can order online or get information on these events at our website.  Hurry, because will are limiting attendance at these events to maintain social distancing guidelines. You can order online for numerous Chapter Class A Raffles, several that will be drawn this month like the TriStar Hunter Mag II Blades/Bronze 12ga. 3.5” O/U shotgun at our SE WI Golf outing at Western Lakes Golf Club, or at our Grand Daddy Hunters Eve Bash where will draw for a UTV, WOW!!  This is your last chance for tickets on these raffles.  Hurry, only a few tickets are left on several of them.

Last month I updated you on some new hunting products you will see at our upcoming events.  This month I can tell you we will have Lucky Duck Flappers, Spinners, Splashers and Swimmer items for the successful duck hunter.  You can also win some Tanglefree decoy packages for the upcoming waterfowl season. Check out the Surf and Turf raffle featuring a Beavertail Final Attack Layout/Pit Blind.

I’d again would like to take time to thank all of our committee volunteers for all of their efforts at our summer events and autumn banquets.  I want to encourage all of our membership to give these individuals a big Thank You when you see them around town or one of our events.  Again, please consider joining them. Come join us and be a part of an Association making Wisconsin a Better Place to Live.

Mike Schmoller

On a sadder note, we lost a great WWA Chapter Chairman and wonderful hunting partner of mine, Mike Schmoller, of a heart attack earlier this summer.  Mike Chaired the Waunakee Shoot and was a member of the Madison Chapter Committee.  Mike was an ethical hunter and great supporter of WWA and will be greatly missed.  Happy Hunting, Mike.

Rich Jeske

Another long-time WWA supporter and member, Rich Jeske, passed away August 1st. You will be missed, Rich!

Thanks for all your past and future support.
