Volunteers Wanted

Our volunteers are the key to making every event we hold a successful one. Chapter volunteers plan, fundraise, secure sponsors for events and staff our banquets, bashes, shoots and golf outings. Without you there is NO WWA!

Volunteers with WWA’s Valley Chapter work on placing wood duck boxes in Outagamie County to assist in nesting success.

In talking to many of our members at events, it is clear to me that there are some members who are uncomfortable with the idea of taking on a role in fundraising or working at events, etc. These folks still want to support WWA through other efforts, however.  And many have volunteered to provide “boots on the ground” work at our AWA (Adopt a Wildlife Area) areas doing site cleanup, painting, wood duck box installation and maintenance, chainsaw work or blind building/camouflaging. We encourage and look forward to volunteers for all aspects of our work at WWA – education, policy or habitat related.

Chapter volunteers are our heart blood and we appreciate all your support. Are there chapter members or others that have an interest in our other missions beyond events?

If so, we could use your help!

Interested in serving on any of our committees (education, policy, communication, development)? We currently have a great need on our education committee. There are identified programs that need your help – to support existing established functions or to develop new ones in your area. Learn to Hunt programs, nesting box education or construction, youth mentoring, education events like duck/goose calling, the August 28th Waterfowl Hunters Expo, or even writing education articles for our newsletters focused on supporting our missions.  Let us know if you are interested in any of these opportunities, or have a passion in any of the wetland/waterfowl education areas. Committees meet via phone or zoom technology and dates and times can usually be planned around your schedule.

Yes, the “Help Wanted” sign is out at WWA! If you are interested in more opportunities to support your WWA with your time and talents please contact me directly via phone at 920-660-2773 or burben@netnet.net.

Thank you for all you do!
