Since arriving at WWA, I’ve been fixated on building WWA’s future. But we must make sure we weather this immediate financial storm. Every morning, when the dog nudges my bed and tells me it’s time to get up, I think: “Who looks out for Minnesota Waterfowlers now that their organization has folded??” And then I get to work making sure that won’t happen in Wisconsin. (Read more on what WWA uniquely does for waterfowlers.)
With traditional fundraising events effectively curtailed for the near future, we’ve been working to find new avenues to generate funds for our ongoing activities:
- More frequent class As;
- Online auctions;
- Membership drives;
- Virtual events.
We have the model for each of these, but could we use some help? Absolutely. Reach out to Tom (414-750-8260) or to Rob (920-382-5261) and put your hand on the helm and help steer us through this period with minimal storm damage. Got some creative ideas of you own? Let us know.

Consider becoming a sustaining member of WWA – there are still some tickets available for the big prize of an overnight hunt at the famed NePeeNauk club in Montello, WI – with me as your guide! The first fifteen sustaining members who sign up for a recurring donation of at least $10/month to WWA get a ticket in the drawing. And your monthly donations are fully tax deductible as permitted by law!
Tell your buddy about WWA – get them to become a member – better yet, a sustaining member!

Virtually all of America has felt the financial sting of the COVID virus, businesses included. But now may be the ideal time to start developing or expanding relationships with those companies that want to be seen as helping non-profits like ourselves. Can you help? Who do you know that can create an introduction to start having a conversation about how they can partner with WWA? Let me know at bruceross@wi.rr.com.
