Exciting news for outdoor men and women – the governor announced that the state has secured conservation easements on the Pelican River Forest in Oneida County.
Why it’s important: 70,000 northwoods acres will be available for hunting and fishing, snowmobiling and more outdoor pursuits.

This step was not without controversy – there were objections by some legislators and local communities. WWA was one of many outdoor organizations that expressed support for this initiative.
