A New Normal

We have all been impacted by the pandemic and social distancing. Many of us have been furloughed or, worst yet, lost our jobs. Our “normal” has changed, and not in a good way.

Door prizes that will be given away Monday night at our Inaugural Virtual Event!

As you know, WWA has had to cancel or postpone fund raising events to comply with current COVID-19 regulations on maintaining social distancing and avoiding large gatherings. We are hopeful that we may be able to return to some resemblance of pre-COVID normal as we progress through Wisconsin’s “Badger Bounceback” reopening phases. This may take several months, however. In the meantime, we need our volunteers and our membership’s help NOW more than ever. WWA will be offering their first Virtual Event to be held this coming Monday, May 18th. I’m excited to report that this event which will offer some pretty great door prizes (firearms, Russel Moccasin boots, shoes and hunting apparel) is sold out! Thanks to those of you that helped us sell out by purchasing a ticket. Our staff is working on more virtual events to be held in the near future to help us keep the lights on while we are unable to hold our scheduled events. If your chapter would like to do something similar let Bruce know at bruceross@wi.rr.com. Please consider helping us maintain our Organization’s mission in this interim.

Tickets just $10 each, only 100 sold for this Taurus!

How else can you help? Watch for our class A raffles being routinely marketed electronically or visit the Class A page on our website to purchase a chance to win. Also, consider paying forward your yearly WWA membership ($25) or, if you can, look into a sustainable, recurring donation or a one-time tax deductible donation to support WWA’s mission – all are available on our website under the “make a taxable deductible donation” button. The recently enacted Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act has created an attractive new reason to make charitable donations. Tax payers who do not itemize can now (2020) can deduct cash contributions of up to $300 ($600 for married couples) from their adjusted gross income, lowering their taxable income. Also, if you itemize, you can deduct (100%) of your charitable contributions in 2020.

Every dollar donated helps us through this period of time. Please consider donating now to insure WWA will be able to continue to do the important habitat and education work and represent our Wisconsin Waterfowlers.

Again, thank you for all you do to support WWA- we can’t do it without you!

Stay safe and stay healthy!
