A Preview of Coming Attractions

We love duck stamp prints, in part because they evoke a feeling – a connection with a species, a place, a frozen moment in our hunting memory…  which is thawed every time you walk by.

Now imagine all of that, PLUS the ability to examine the original individual brush strokes by the hand of the painter himself. Now, add the realization that this artwork was jury selected to go on every Wisconsin duck stamp that year, to be carried by tens of thousands of hunters around the state.  Throw in museum quality framing that accentuates the every detail of the luminescent waterfowl scenes.  And then, add to that the good feeling that comes from knowing your special painting has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to better waterfowling around the state, and further, that your acquisition of this painting will contribute to future generations of waterfowl experiences.  What level of joy would that bring you?

WWA is delighted to have four ORIGINAL paintings by Les Didier, two of which were selected to be the Wisconsin State Duck Stamp art in 1995 and 1998. The paintings have been donated – and proceeds directed to the WWA endowment – by the artist’s son, Jim Didier, an early WWA Director.

I just wanted to whet your appetite for these deliciously significant art pieces.  You will be seeing more on this in the future, learning more about the artist, including pictures of the other two paintings, one of which has a special connection to WWA History.  And what’s an endowment anyway?
