A big thanks to all of you who attended our Sporting Clay Shoots and the Fox Valley Golf Outing in July. It is a great time for me to meet members of our community that I don’t get to see at our banquets, those of you who love to support us through these other venues. Thanks again for your continued support! I hope to see more of you at our upcoming 20th Annual State Shoot August 17th at Wern Valley Sportsman’s Club. This is a fun shoot to get you ready for the upcoming hunting season. Bring your duck hunting gun as we shoot pairs and triples at this event. You can win an 8 Bird Pheasant Hunt or a 4-man 3-day Argentina Dove Hunt!!! We will be giving away numerous cases of shells so check out the website for more info or to pre-register. We also have some non-shooting entertainment for the duck hunters coming up August 17th at Midwestern Shooter’s Supply’s Fall Fest that is hosting our WI State Championship Duck & Goose calling contest. We will have tickets for our UTV Raffle there with the proceeds going to fund our wetland restorations in Wisconsin.
August is the month that kicks Off our autumn banquet season. The Wausau Chapter has their 4th Annual event on the 10th followed up on the 22nd with the Midland Wings/West Bend Chapter. Can’t make the banquets? You can still get in on their amazing Class A (need not be present to win!) raffles, several that will be drawn this month like the Canada fishing trip or the 4-gun raffle featuring a Browning Wicked Wings at our Wausau event! Or, try out your chances on the 4-gun raffle featuring a Weatherby Orion O/U at the Midland Wings Banquet or our Grand-Daddy Hunter’s Eve Bash where will draw for a Kimber 1911 45ACP and the UTV. Wow!! This is your last chance for tickets on these raffles as they will all be drawn this month. Hurry as only a few tickets are left on several of them.
Here is another first for us: we will be drawing the winner of our UTV Raffle the 26th at a new location. The Beaver Dam Conservation Club will be the host of our Hunter’s Eve Bash where we will draw the winner of not only the UTV raffle but the Kimber 1911 45ACP along with games and LOTS of raffle prizes that night. Come join us for a quick and REALLY CHEAP night of drinks and snacks.
Last month I updated you on some new hunting products you will see at our upcoming events. This month I can tell you we have new items for the man cave, bar room or the cabin coming to our events. You can also win some cases of steel shot for the upcoming waterfowl season.
I’d again like to take this time to thank all of our committee volunteers for all their efforts at our summer events and the planning they’ve put in for our exciting autumn banquets. I want to encourage all of you as our membership to give these individuals a big Thank You when you see them around town or at one of our events. Again, please consider joining them. Come join us and be a part of an Association making Wisconsin a Better Place to Live.
Thanks for all your past and future support.
