Through a collaborative effort, Wisconsin will be holding the Waterfowl Hunters Expo (WHE) on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh, WI
The family focused, pet friendly, and hands-on expo will cover all aspects of waterfowling. WHE is truly a collaborative effort with partner organizations Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, Green Bay Duck Hunters, WDNR, UW-Stevens Point, Wisconsin Waterfowl Association and Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, along with business partners Bast Durbin Advertising, Seasons 2 Remember and Swift Waters Marketing planning the event.
WHE is not for profit, with the mission to engage waterfowl hunters and outdoor enthusiasts in an event that celebrates the past, embraces the present and invest in the future of waterfowl hunting in Wisconsin. Wisconsin is home to 70,000 waterfowl hunters and WHE provides the missing comprehensive off-season experience.
A key to the success of WHE is day-of-event volunteers (60-80 total) to assist with event set-up, parking, assisting expo visitors, take-down, etc. Because of this critical aspect of the success of WHE, I’m working with our planning partners to help fill this need.
We’re looking for individuals or groups to help out at this time; here are some steps you can take to help with our volunteer staffing needs:
- Chapter, or organization, to put a call-out to their members for volunteers.
- Chapter or organization designate a person as a single point of contact for their organization’s volunteers.
- Volunteers get free admission to WHE, provided a hat and lanyard identifying them as a WHE Volunteer and will have designated time to enjoy the expo.
- Volunteer needs are Friday, Aug 27th afternoon/evening and Saturday, Aug 28th 6:30 am – 7:00 pm.
- Once an organization has a single point of contact and volunteers, please contact Todd Schaller (WHE Volunteer Coordinator) at [email]c217tazman@gmail.com[email/].
- Provide Todd with the Organization name, and
- Organization’s single point of contact, and
- the number of volunteers and their names.
For planning purposes, please contact WHE Volunteer Coordinator with this information as soon as practical and no later than July 1, 2021.
